| Welcome Dear Friends,
Welcome to the Happy Therapist! People often ask me why I call myself the Happy Therapist. The credit goes to my friend and office neighbor, Tony who coined the name in response to hearing my robust laughter throughout the day as I worked with clients. It's a fact that laughter is good for our health. So, when I share a hearty laugh with clients, we all benefit from it.
We often associate therapy of any kind as being an unpleasant task, but it is what lies beyond that discomfort that counts. It is the permanent relief and happiness we have after we heal and become stronger. Psychological healing is as important as physical healing and they strongly influence each other. But, many times people are apprehensive about going to therapy for their psychological healing. Fear is the usual culprit; especially fear of the unknown and unseen. It is difficult to repair that which is invisible. As a therapist, I do not repair things. I am more a teacher and a guide. I teach people how to see themselves, others, and situations in more accurate ways and show them how to make their own repairs. I give them directions to get to their goals, but clients determine how far they want to go. I am merely their guide. As I go with them on their journeys, we often laugh along the way.
I hope as you explore this web site, you will find resources that will help you on your journey, perhaps through your own temporary discomfort and on to permanent happiness. May you laugh everyday! Sincerely,
 |

"When we try to live and feel the way society and the media moguls dictate, we put more emphasis on what they have deemed acceptable reality and less emphasis on our true reality and what is really important for our existence. We are conforming to the ideal and making society's standards our norm. With that said, man has apparently decided that being made in God's image isn't good enough and he must improve it - that he must create himself in the image he believes is perfect and acceptable. Man has taken the reigns from God and set the course for his own destination - one that is based on illusion and feelings."
